Challenge Create Actionable Goals - Work It Daily
Challenge Create Actionable Goals - Work It Daily Todayâs Work It Daily Challenge is to create actionable goals. Setting goals for yourself has always been a part of your life. Whether youâre creating a to-do list for the day or writing out your New Yearâs resolutions, youâre constantly giving yourself items to check off. Goal-setting is an essential piece of getting what you want. Without goals, you have no map, motivation, or plan. But are you setting yourself up for success by creating the right kind of goals? Formatting your goals effectively is just as important as having them. There are two kinds of goals I typically set for myself: Ultimate goals and Actionable goals. An ultimate goal is something big that youâd like to achieve in the future. An actionable goal is like a step towards your ultimate goal. For example, letâs say one of your goals is to write a book. Great goal! This is something youâd identify this as an âUltimate Goal.â Instead of just saying, âWrite a bookâ on your to-do list, create actionable goals for yourself like, âBrainstorm at 3-5 plot ideasâ or âWrite for one hour each day.â Writing a book is the ultimate goal here, but it requires a series of âminiâ goals you have to achieve first, like brainstorming plot ideas. Hereâs another example. Letâs say you want to learn more about fine wines. Instead of saying âLearn more about fine wine,â perhaps you would say something like, âWatch online course on wine making,â or âAttend wine tasting this week.â So, today, challenge yourself to create actionable goals. Think about those BIG goals you want to achieve, then determine what little steps will help you get there. What are your actionable goals for this week? Tell us!
